The Warangesda Theatre Production is a ground-breaking testimony of ancestral and modern-day survival. Burrundi Theatre revisits the origins of Warangesda, at the time of Reverend John Gribble.
The production hinges on the birth of the Camp of Mercy in 1880, the very peak of the Christian convergence of the colonial frontier on the Murrumbidgee River in Wiradjuri
country.
Warangesda re-tells a small but significant part of the camps history. Our core creative team and cast members are Wiradjuri descendants of Warangesda.
